Visiting Amsterdam, as I was walking along Staalstraat, I crossed a wooden draw-bridge over the Groenburgwal.
Looking north I saw the stunning view over the tower of the Zuiderkerk (the South Church).
French impressionist painter Claude Monet captured this very scene in his work, ‘The Zuiderkerk, Amsterdam (Looking up the Groenburgwal)’ in 1874.
Amsterdam is a beautiful city and perfect for wandering around the picturesque canals and along the cobbled streets. Also if you’re really into art, the “Venice of the North” has to offer great museums, such as the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum, so immerse yourself in art and culture , historical landmarks and must-see exhibitions.
